2013 Sailfish 290 CC
Twin Mercury 300 Verados | Minn Kota Instinct Auto-Deploy | Twin Raymarine Displays | Radar
A well-equipped 2013 Sailfish 290 CC built around what this model does best: offshore capability, tremendous cockpit space and serious fishability.
Powered by twin Mercury L6 300 Verados with 1,067 hours on the starboard engine and 1,069 hours on port, this 290 offers 600 horsepower on Sailfish’s proven Variable Deadrise Stepped hull.
The 290 CC was designed as a true offshore fishing platform, combining a deep cockpit, high gunwales and an unusually large amount of working space for a boat in this size range. Sailfish’s VDS hull design is well regarded for providing a soft, dry ride while maintaining good stability at rest, making the boat equally comfortable running offshore or working a drift.
At the helm, twin 12-inch Raymarine HybridTouch color displays are paired with radar and sounder. The large dash layout provides excellent visibility and plenty of space for the electronics package without feeling crowded.
A major addition is the Minn Kota Instinct trolling motor with Auto-Deploy, supported by its dedicated battery system and charger. The system adds tremendous versatility for holding position over structure, bottom fishing or working inshore water without constantly relying on the engines.
Fishing equipment is extensive. Factory features include 17 rod holders, a 35-gallon leaning-post livewell, 30-gallon transom livewell, high-speed livewell pickup, dual in-floor fish boxes and locking rod storage. This boat also features outriggers, raw-water washdown, freshwater washdown and additional fishing storage throughout.
The cockpit is one of the strongest features of the 290. It is exceptionally open, deep and easy to work around, with the high gunwales providing a secure feel offshore. Whether fishing several anglers, loading gear or simply spending the day on the water, the layout gives the boat a much larger feel than its overall length would suggest.
The upholstery has recently been renewed, and the stereo speakers have also recently been replaced. An Ice Blue hull, powder-coated hardtop structure and clean center-console layout give the boat a sharp, purposeful appearance. The existing hull-side name is vinyl and can be easily removed.
For someone looking for a legitimate offshore fishing boat without stepping into the cost of a newer or significantly larger center console, this 290 Sailfish represents a tremendous amount of boat for the money.
